Locum Focus

London, UK (Jan 28, 2010) - 2010 is going to be a big year for all divisions within Arrows Group. None more so than the Healthcare division, where manager Rangeeta Bhamra is in the process of launching a new sub-division within Healthcare: the Locum division.

The Healthcare Locum division will focus on providing doctors such as Senior House Officers (SHOs) and Specialist Registrars (SpRs) from a range of different specialties to existing NHS clients and to new clients.

Within the NHS, the importance of locum staff cannot be overstated; demand for medical professionals to fill these ad hoc roles is extremely high, and Arrows Group intends the new Locum division to fulfil that need in a simple and highly efficient way for clients.

At this stage, the division is in the process of building a portfolio of medical specialists who can then be placed into locum roles as and when they arise. The Healthcare team have already made great strides in attracting such specialists to work with Arrows Group, combining their specialist sector knowledge and extensive existing networks with a poster campaign and other marketing materials to develop a portfolio of available locum professionals who can be called on to take up roles across the UK.

And it’s no surprise that many doctors want to take advantage of this opportunity, since locum positions within the NHS can be both flexible and very lucrative. Arrows Group, for example, expects to place locums within roles that range from one-off cover to semi-permanent positions, and the professionals placed within these roles can receive highly attractive hourly rates.

From Rangeeta’s point of view, the development of this new type of service for the Healthcare market is long overdue: “The Healthcare sector, and the NHS particularly, are often desperate for locum staff and the decision to create a specialist service to focus on this requirement will have a range of benefits. Not only does the Locum division make sound financial sense for Arrows Group, providing an excellent new stream of revenue, it will also offer much greater simplicity for our clients. They will now be able to significantly improve efficiency in fulfilling their ad hoc staffing requirements, by using our Locum division as a one-stop shop for temporary staff for a wide range of roles and specialties.”
