A Global leader in agricultural, energy and metal products seeks a mid level Quantitative Structurer to join the Gas & Power business in London.

Their business operates across 5 continents and boasts a vast portfolio of cross commodity products.

The European Gas & Power business was set up in 2010 and is now trading in most European power and gas markets.

If successful you will be at the centre of validation all Structured transactions that come through from Front Office trading. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a business that is on the verge of rapid growth presenting a unique opportunity to the team. In this role you will cover structured transactions across Gas & Power and other commodities traded including LNG, Coal and Emissions.

The deals you will cover across the whole of Europe and liaise with senior management from the States to Asia.

Responsibilities:

• overseeing the origination activity from a Risk point of view
• creation of models for the valuation of structured transactions
• assisting originators and traders in improving structured/complex deals
• improve risk analysis on trading activities
• create analytical tools and models that automate the processes in place

Requirements:

• 3 years experience in quantitative research and structuring with a focus in European Gas & Power, additional experience with Coal/LNG/Emission is a bonus
• R programming experience is preferred however Matlab, C++ and C# will be considered
• A university degree (Masters/PhD level)
• Good commercial exposure/ exposure to front office trading/structuring/origination
• Strong knowledge of quantitative methods, financial engineering and derivatives
• Ability to communicate well with traders and push back when necessary
