A global investment bank are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join their production support team in London.
The successful DBA will be part of a five man production support team running all Oracle and MS SQL databases maintenance and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oracle and MS SQL databases maintenance and support.
- Remote 1st/2nd/3d line support of mission critical databases in Moscow and London.
- Architecture and design, planning and deployment.
- Pro-active monitoring, performance tuning and query Optimization.
- Database and index designing and tuning.
- Implement and maintain database security based on security policy.
- Backup policy implementation/support.
- New solutions research and development.
- Small-medium projects
- Support Business Applications team with new systems rollout and existing enhancement.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience of MS SQL 2005 and Oracle 10g/11g.
- Experience of configuration and tuning MS SQL Server 2005 (over cluster) and Oracle.
- Experience of T-SQL and PL/SQL-SQL programming.
- Experienced knowledge of Oracle like SQLPLUS, Enterprise Manager, sqlloader, data-pump
- Oracle Database experience on Windows platform.
- SQL Server 2005 Database Server and Database Administration.
- Experienced knowledge of SQL Server 2005 tools.
- Experience in MS SQL 2005 and Database Activities.
The Perfect Candidate will also have:
- Experienced knowledge of Oracle (SQLPLUS, Enterprise Manager, sqlloader, data-pump etc).
- Advanced knowledge of MS technologies (Active directory, Clustering, COM/DCOM/IIS/MS MQ/etc).
- Practical Oracle RAC build experience (from scratch).
- Oracle RAC experience and advance knowledge on Windows or on Linux.
- Oracle RAC experience and advance knowledge on Windows or on Linux.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Windows 2003/2008, x84/x64 and Linux.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Data-guard Windows.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Windows 2003/2008, x84/x64.
- Various XML features in SQL Server 2005 including knowledge of XPath and XQuery.
- Experienced in export/import data from/to various formats like delimited raw/text file, MS-Excel, XML, SQL Server, MS-Access.
- Experience of using Oracle applications.
£80,000 – £95,000 depending upon experience.
